Carbon Offsetting

Carbon offsetting is the practice of compensating for unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions - especially carbon dioxide (CO2) - by developing or investing in environmental projects that remove emissions elsewhere.

Carbon offsetting is not achieved through projects that reduce or avoid carbon emissions (such as renewable energy, reforestation and nature protection). Such initiatives are equally important, deserve their own funding and support within the framework of social responsibility, but do not contribute to the actual and additional removal of CO2 from the atmosphere at present time.

Blue Marble develops afforestation projects (new, additional forests that wouldn’t be developed by the State) to empower businesses and consumers offset their carbon footprint upon its generation.
